Connect Google Calendar for bookings

Let your assistant offer free times, book appointments, move them and cancel them in your own Google Calendar.

Updated 24 Oct 2026

To take bookings in Google Calendar, select Connect on the Google Calendar card in Settings → Integrations → Scheduling, sign in with the Google account that owns the calendar, and allow access. Then add at least one appointment type in Bookings → Appointment types, and your assistant can start booking.

What your assistant does

  • Offers free times. It works them out from your shop's opening hours, less anything already in your calendar, so a customer is only offered times you are free.
  • Books the time the customer picks. The appointment appears in your calendar with the customer's name, phone number and notes. If they give an email address, Google sends them an invitation too.
  • Moves or cancels it. When the customer calls back, they can move or cancel their own appointment, and the change is made in your calendar.

Your assistant checks the calendar again just before booking. If the time went in the meantime, it offers another one rather than booking you twice.

Add an appointment type

  1. Open Bookings in the sidebar and go to Appointment types.
  2. Select Add appointment type.
  3. Choose your Google Calendar, give the appointment a name, like "Consultation", and say how long it lasts.
  4. Choose the shop whose opening hours it follows, how much notice you need and how far ahead customers can book.
  5. Save it.

Free times follow your opening hours, so check them in your shop settings first. If your shop has no opening hours, there are no times to offer.

Which calendar is used

Appointments go into the account's main calendar. To use a different one, select Settings on the Google Calendar card and set Calendar to book into.

If something goes wrong

  • Not available yet. Google Calendar has not been switched on for your account yet. Contact us.
  • Needs reconnecting. Google withdrew access, for example after a password change. Select Reconnect.
  • Google Calendar counts as one of your plan's connected systems. If you have reached your plan's limit, disconnect something else or change plan.
